Fortune for my father

Wheel of fortune necklace . Created by Carlos Olivier

My father was recently hospitalized after complaining of abdominal pain. He ended up being rushed in for emergency surgery. He has since made a partial recovery and is at home. When visiting him in the hospital it really bothered me to know that one of the toughest guys I know was having trouble standing up. While visiting I showed him my healing necklace I had made from my last post and he had really liked it. I wanted to make him one and stopped in at my local bead shop, Earth Gems downtown. I poured over there selection in search for the right pendant for my dad. I came across a wheel made of obsidian . I asked the shopkeeper about it. He told me it was called The Wheel of Fortune. He told me it brings is success and good fortune. I paired the wheel with some lava stone and banded agate beads and wrapped my chain links in copper. I enjoyed making this necklace and since the last one I made, I have gotten quicker and my links have gotten tighter.

Healing necklace

Lava necklace . By Carlos Olivier

I was introduced to healing stones by a close friend and fellow artist Daniel Sharma. He had a necklace that he crafted out of jade stone beads. I asked him about it and he taught me about the stones and really introduced me to healing stones. Months later I had an opportunity to meet with a psychic for a reading. This psychic had touched on several things from my past, present and future (some of which has since come true). During my reading the lady began to draw a pretty accurate drawing of the necklace Dan had made and would wear. She told me that these necklaces actually did what Dan had intended them to do. Using each stones healing propertys and copper links to join them to work together to aid the wearer in their everyday life. Dan has since made me a necklace and instructed me on how to clense, craft and bless these necklaces. This is my first attempt at jewellery crafting and have created a necklace for myself using copper wire, lava stone, and a solar quantom pendant. I purchase my stones from a local minaral shop called Earth Gems in Calgary.

The solar quantom pendant is comprised of minerals from volcanos around the world. This pendant produces low levels of radiation. Although I have heard the pros and cons of low level radiation I really like how it turned out and wear it everyday. The symbol of the pendant it the flower of life and is a symbol of ancient geometry. The flower of life can be found throughout nature and is used by several different religions  around the world.

Curves was photographed while on bus, it is the back of the seat in front of me. Although I didn’t realize it at first, upon reviewing my photos taken this one had a real feminine feel to it.
