Carlos Olivier

Hello, my name is Carlos Olivier I am a freelance artist located in Calgary Alberta. I am available for remote work or contract work. My company name is Carlos Olivier Art and offer Graphic Design, Concept Art, 3D modeling, 3D Animation, VFX, Video editing and Game Development Services. I am a Grumbacher certified drawing instructor. I have a diploma in Video game art and design and design foundations from The Art Institute of Vancouver and Certificate in 3D Animation and visual effects from the Visual College of Art and Design. I am currently developing my own indie video game called Bad Medicine and have built my own mobile off grid studio.

I am Portuguese, Fist nations (Blackfoot and Dene), Metis, French Canadian. I grew up learning Blackfoot traditions and part took in several cultural gatherings, pow wows, sweats and sun dances. Growing up in Calgary I would also partake in Roman Catholic traditions and teachings. I would spend my days making art, playing with neighborhood kids, watching movies, playing way too many video games and watching way too much television.

I enjoy playing “mad scientist” in my spare time, combining traditional knowledge, past and present technology, gardening nature and agricultural, my plumbing and construction knowledge and my love of art to create functional art projects for my own personal use. I try to live my life curiously and am constantly trying to figure out how everything in this world fits together.

The goal of my art is to give a glimpse into the things that I think about and the things that interest me. I enjoy the unexplainable, the paranormal, technology, nature, history, science, spirituality and cultural beliefs from around the world. My goal in business is to be a one stop shop for all your/your business’ creative needs. In life my goal is to create beautiful art and to surround myself with beautiful things like nature, family and friends.
